I am a Wisconsin girl who found Alaska. I always had a an interest in photography, but after an internship brought me to Alaska to complete my college degree in the autumn of 2003, my passion for photography really took off as I explored Alaska and wanted to capture all its beauty in nature and its people. Because Alaska is such an awesome place to be and I was offered a job after my internship, I decided to remain in Alaska, which has truly become home to me. I have lived in Alaska for over 20 years and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Six months after I arrived in Alaska, I met my wonderful husband and fell in love with him immediately. Long story short, we have been married for 18 years and have five wonderful, active, adventurous children.

When I am on a photography job you may be curious what I carry in my bag. I carry Nikon Z8 and Nikon D850 cameras, multiple lenses and flashes and a few other fun things such as reflectors, etc. depending on the job.

Photography is my outlet and passion. I love the way a photo can bring us back to that special moment. The beautiful glow of newly engaged couple or the first kiss of a just married couple…I love how it can remind us how little babies and children used to be. I love capturing the moments that will never be repeated again on this earth, but can be brought back to life with a photo. I love helping others see and remember through photography!

If you were to ask what my photography style is, I would use the word, “real”. I strive to capture the real essence of the person, family and occasion. I am not a photographer who likes to add lots of special effects. I like the real, authentic moment, whatever that may be. Yes, I do edit out distracting spots of images if needed, but I am not one to edit out the clouds during a session and make it a sunny day. I strive to capture the beauty in the moment, whatever that may be on that day… My goal is to have you walking away from your session feeling good, with wonderful photo memories to last a lifetime!
